More Life..

This year I was able to celebrate G. Day with one of my most favorite people, Jess. Last year, I was about to spend my birthday alone in Texarkana when Jess hopped on a plane and spent the weekend with me. Texarkana's lack of a nightlife threw her into overdrive. Last year's experience made her plan this year's birthdaycation: a weekend cruise to the Bahamas! I cant begin to tell you guys how amazing this woman is and how lucky I am to have her as a friend.

We flew into Orlando's International Airport on Wednesday and spent that night drinking and vibing. I was able to bring in my birthday with my Ace. It was truly one of my best birthdays to date.. On Thursday, my birthday, we boarded the Carnival Liberty and commenced to having the most amazing best friend cruise known to man. Friday morning we woke up in the Bahamas and the things we experienced there was nothing short of epic. We got a personal tour to a private beach and ventured all over Nassau. We saw the real Bahamas, not just the touristy stuff and that in itself was dope. Saturday, we spent the day at sea and Sunday brought us back to reality as docked back in Orlando.

I had the time of my life, and I am excited to see what the future holds for us.

Le Canadian Tux

This weekend we were able to step away from our normal routine. Jeremy's football team was on a bye week and I didn't have to work! Sometime during the week I noticed my beautiful friend Ashlie of Embellished Nails by Ash was nearby for work so we had to link up! I was able to use that morning to record a Facebook Live #GetReadyWithMe video. We had an awesome Saturday, even though the temperature here in the Ark-La-Tex tried to play us, lol. We went to the Louisiana State Fair and caught Boo 2! A Madea Halloween at the Boardwalk Theater.

I hope you guys had as awesome a weekend as we did.

xo,

Glen

Recommitment

I've sat in front of my MacBook on and off for months wondering how to move forward. All I could think was "Photobucket took 9 years from me." I've contemplated starting anew, and I still may but for now, I'll press on. These past few months have been a rollercoaster for me. A connection I never thought would end, did and bonds I never thought would form materialized. I'm happy for all of it, however, because they continue to shape me into the woman I am supposed to be.

I felt myself heading back to a dark place, so I needed to balance my scale. I had to resume blogging. If for nothing else, at least for my mental health. I've been told over and over that I can not pour from an empty cup, so this is me, walking up to the counter and ordering a refill.

All I ask of myself is to be better than the woman I was yesterday.
Stay beautiful you guys, inside and out.

xoxo,

Glen

Painting in the Park

Can you believe this is my first post of the year?! Wow. We are seriously a quarter of the way through 2017. Hopefully, this post snowballs into a fury of future posts. Last weekend we celebrated the 6th birthday of Jeremy's awesome classmate Kenna. Kenna (seen above) is a super smart kindergartner, gymnast, and pianist. You may remember her mom, Regina from Jeremy's 5th birthday party (click here to see that post). She made the invitations, photo props and tags for that party. Last weekend she put together a fantastic paint party in the park for her very own superstar, Kenna.

The details of this party were executed flawlessly; from the personalized aprons to the perfectly stenciled canvases. Everything was accounted for beautifully, to include custom birthday t-shirts for the family made by Regina herself. Cupcakes and palette sugar cookies set the stage for the beautifully crafted dessert table, and the kiddos had 4 stencil options to choose from: a DC superhero set, Hello Kitty, a butterfly or a race car. The guests were also allowed to decorate their own cupcakes before singing Happy Birthday to the birthday girl!

To say that the kids (as well as the adults) had fun would be an understatement. It was a beautiful and cool day, and the wind died down just enough for us to enjoy the park. The works of art we all ended up with definitely put smiles on our faces. Look at all this talent stuffed into these little bodies:

Kenna's grandparents and favorite aunt Kimmie were also in attendance, so what better way to end the day than with some lakeside family shots (compliments of the beautiful Bringle Park Lake in the background). The Ferguson family has seriously become my second family while here in Texarkana, and they were super fun to work with.

Here's to 6.
Happy Birthday, Kenna.
