R e f r e s h

Can you believe its 2019! OMG. Seriously. June of this year will be my blog's 10 Year Anniversary and I honestly can't believe I've stuck with it this long. We are only twenty days into the new year but it already been a whirlwind  for me. I ended 2018 back home in the Virgin Islands with my family. My brother was in an almost fatal wreck and had to be flown off the island for surgery. I was able to go home and be with my family during that trying time. Two weeks prior to that, Jerm and I went on his first cruise. And less than a week ago I had refractive surgery to correct the vision in my right eye.

Although we've literally been all over the place in the last month I've tried to consistently document our journeys. In the end, even if Jerm decides that he'd like to do something else, he'll always be able to look back on the memories we've documented together. If you havent already, please take a moment to subscribe to his Youtube channel. For ease, I've posted his last two videos below:

2018 was all over the place for me. I'm hoping to bring more focus into 2019.

More Life..

This year I was able to celebrate G. Day with one of my most favorite people, Jess. Last year, I was about to spend my birthday alone in Texarkana when Jess hopped on a plane and spent the weekend with me. Texarkana's lack of a nightlife threw her into overdrive. Last year's experience made her plan this year's birthdaycation: a weekend cruise to the Bahamas! I cant begin to tell you guys how amazing this woman is and how lucky I am to have her as a friend.

We flew into Orlando's International Airport on Wednesday and spent that night drinking and vibing. I was able to bring in my birthday with my Ace. It was truly one of my best birthdays to date.. On Thursday, my birthday, we boarded the Carnival Liberty and commenced to having the most amazing best friend cruise known to man. Friday morning we woke up in the Bahamas and the things we experienced there was nothing short of epic. We got a personal tour to a private beach and ventured all over Nassau. We saw the real Bahamas, not just the touristy stuff and that in itself was dope. Saturday, we spent the day at sea and Sunday brought us back to reality as docked back in Orlando.

I had the time of my life, and I am excited to see what the future holds for us.

Emerald of the Sea

Prior to our Orlando trip, Jeremy and I spent some time with my family in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Saint Croix, to be exact. It was a well needed distraction from all the things going on around us at the moment. Jeremy absolutely loved the freedom of being able to just run freely and play without regard on my family's land. He's truly an island boy at heart.

And what would an island boy be without a day at the beach?! We had so much fun splashing and wading and just soaking up the rays. We visited Hotel on the Cay (pronounced "key"), a popular tourist destination on St. Croix. Could you believe on his first official beach day Jeremy held a starfish?! I was born and raised there and it was my first time.

Our day at the beach was more than I could have ever hoped for. One of the other amazing things I got to do while at home was a tour of the world renowned Cruzan Rum distillery. It's one of the Virgin Islands' pride and joys. The tour was great. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and its comes complete with 2 cocktails and 3 shots at the conclusion of your tour.

Our time spent in the Virgin Islands was mostly spent by the water. Whether for lunch, an evening hangout with friends or a beach day, the ocean was a reoccurring theme. It was nostalgic, to say the least. A little piece of me will always be on that little rock in the Caribbean Sea..

Hope you enjoyed that little piece of my home as much as I did.

#cruiselife: Our 2014 Caribbean Getaway

I know, I know. Its been a while! So much to share with you guys! If you follow me on instaGram, or we're friends on FaceBook then you know that I recently came back from a Caribbean cruise to the islands of Jamaica and Grand Cayman! Being an island girl myself, this trip was nostalgic and I needed that break! It was awesome being able to relax with the love of my life and my best friend, Jessica of Diva on a Budget! We spent our days without a care in the world all while being wined and dined in luxury. There were 5 couples total and the memories we made were unforgettable.
