Trunk or Treat!

Today was my unit's annual "Trunk or Treat" event. It's where we host trick or treating in a safe, kid friendly environment so that the soldiers families dont feel to far away from home. Although we weren't  in costume, Jeremy and I were there to pass out candy!

Even Jeremy got a treat!

Oyin Handmade

After seeing them featured on Morgan's blog Vintage Bell (click here for the direct link to the post) I decided to give Oyin Handmade a shot. I purchased 3 products and have been using them since. Here's a little bit of history directly from their site:

Oyin Handmade was born in winter 2001 when Jamyla started sharing her all-natural bodycare products with a small circle of family and friends. From there, it moved to fairs and shows, and the website was launched in spring of 2003. Joined by her husband and partner Pierre… and over the years by a slowly growing, dedicated, and brilliant team of Oyin HoneyBees… and a somewhat distracting but super fun new HoneyBaby born in 2008, we work to bring love-filled, natural products from our hands to yours. Come join Oyin in the fight against ash and the quest for a more supple world.

Oyin Handmade bases most (if not all) of there products with honey. I purchased the Juice and Berries nourishing herbal leave-in, the Honey Hemp Conditioner,  and the Head to Toe Honey Wash. I havent tried the Honey Hemp Conditioner yet because I'm still wearing my sew-in from my birthday, but I use the Juice and Berries spray daily. Even on the weave, its phenomenal. I'm absolutely in love with it. The Head to Toe wash didn't impress me as much. It's a product that supposed to double as a body wash and a shampoo, but I'm going to use it solely as a shampoo. Its too light, in my opinion, to use as a body wash. There's just not enough suds for me. Either way, click the pictures to purchase.

I had to share this!

BCBGeneration Dress, Sleeveless Belted Cutout Back
This was a  birthday present from my sister and had it arrived earlier, I would have been wearing this the night I celebrated my birthday. THIS DRESS FITS LIKE A GLOVE! I absolutely love it! When I took it out the package I had a sort of 0_o look on my face because I couldn't envision what it was supposed to look like. Then I tried it on and felt like I needed to share it with the world! So here you have it: originally $118.00 but currently marked down to $79.99 at Macy's. Click here to purchase.

There's no place like home...

Due to an unfortunate circumstance, I'll be taking emergency leave to go home and be with my family. As I go home to celebrate a life, I realize that this is the first time most of my family will meet my husband and infant son. Tomorrow will be filled with long drives and phone calls, so I leave you with a few pictures of the place I call home: St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands.

Go girl, it's your birthday!

I'm sorry for the lack of post, but between work and my birthday last Wednesday I've been super busy. I had to turn my car in for cosmetic repairs so I've been driving an Audi A4 rental. It's nice, but I miss my automatic and Ford Sync!

Plans for my birthday sort of fell threw but my future ex wife (lol) Jessica over at Diva on a Budget made sure I had fun. :) on my birthday she took me to Macaroni Grill and had them sing to me in Italian while I devoured my beloved crab stuffed mushrooms.

Gift-wise, I received an iPad from my husband, and clothes from my sister. My in-laws sent us stuff too, but they're caught up in the mail system. I suspect we'll see that stuff sometime next week.. On the Saturday following my birthday Jeremy and I took more studio pictures (which we'll pick up on the 21st) and Jess and I did a little last minute shopping before heading to the Hacienda to grab a bite. Following the Hacienda we made an appearance at Markthalle, a local night club.

We didn't know him, but he wanted a picture with us, lol!
